Rivers & Roads & Busy Traffic

Thank you for sticking with me on my academic and personal journey through some of the most influential and important times of my life.

These days, being as important as they are, I have found it hard to sit down and record my life with the pen.

I have much to tell you:

I want to record the beauty that I saw in Ireland, and everything that happened there that I cannot begin to abbreviate here. I will be sharing in full at some point in the near future.

Also, I have taken some beautiful pictures––Ireland and elsewhere––that I will be sharing with you all very soon. I hope you enjoy them and tell me what you think of them, as I love input from people on my pictures.

Meanwhile, there is a song that has been especially impactful and meaningful to me recently, and as beautiful as it is, I cannot not share it (excuse the double negative).

The lyrics:

A year from now we'll all be gone
All our friends will move away
And they're going to better places
But our friends will be gone away

Nothing is as it has been
And I miss your face like hell
And I guess it's just as well
But I miss your face like hell

Been talking bout the way things change
And my family lives in a different state
And if you don't know what to make of this
Then we will not relate
So if you don't know what to make of this
Then we will not relate

Rivers and roads
Rivers and roads
Rivers 'til I reach you

Rivers and roads
Rivers and roads
Rivers 'til I reach you

The Best Music of 2013

I would not consider myself to be a professional critic, nor a musical virtuoso. I would say, though, that I have been cultured and steeped in a liberal variety of music; I pride myself with being familiar with as much as I am able to and being willing to share my findings with those who are interested. I have done the stereotypical: I have collected a top ten list of the album releases from 2013. I would not say it is authoritative, but I believe it is fairly accurate. I also avoided using my personal preferences, but rather, looked to the success of the record as a whole, the coherency of the record, and the public acceptance it had in its cultural niche. Let me know what you think, and let me know if you think I left any crucial ones out! Thanks.
